Streets Beach
Streets Beach is man-made beach and lagoon located in Brisbane inner-city. It is the main feature within the 17 hectare South Bank Parklands. Swimmers can swim in the lagoon all year - it contains enough water to fill 5 Olympic-sized swimming pools. It is also patrolled by qualified lifeguards for your safety.
History
Opened in 1992 as Kodak Beach and sponsored by an ice cream company, Streets. The beach was built a few years after the World Expo 88 in Brisbane, South Bank.
